Yellow Lights

Oh little one it’s overrated

Growing up is hard to do

I know you feel as though you fail us

Though we’re the ones who are failing you

Oh little one it’s complicated

You’re much too young to comprehend

All of what’s going on around you

And if it’s ever going to end

I hope your dreams can give you wings

And keep a light alive inside of you

No matter what tomorrow bring

What grownup’s do

Oh little one I know you’ve waited

In vain way too many nights

With your face glued to the window

Looking for those yellow lights

Oh little one you get frustrated

I would too if I were you

Oh little one it will get better
