Lyrics
I do appreciate you coming out because come on, let's be honest. You got a lot today and now where we live, lot of entertainment choices. Netflix alone? Come on. By the way, with Netflix can we tone it down a little bit with people ranting and raving about how many options, "Netflix has so much, they've so". No. Netflix has a lot of shit that you have to sift through to get to the good stuff. Have you ever scrolled through the movies on Netflix? Man, it don't take long before you ain't sniffing a movie star. I'm like, Oh man, there's not even a Baldwin brother in any of these. Is that my neighbor Larry in that one? That's why when you get a good recommendation for Netflix, it's like a drug. I come home, I'm telling my wife, "Are we going to do this? Are you sure you want to watch it?". Apparently we're going to stay up late. We're going to blow the kid off.
What do we always say? We'll watch one, we'll just watch one. Right? That's the problem. You try to watch one on these shows. You've got Netflix, you try to watch one and you go to bed, as you're going to bed, the screens like, next episode in five, four, three, two, one. Next thing you know it's four in the morning. I'm like, "No season two, come on! What are we doing?".
When I get into something, man, I have to hear every line. Like I'm watching a movie recently and the guy leaves the room. He said something, but I don't catch it. So I turned to my wife and went, "What do he say?", and she goes, "I didn't hear it either", I'm like, "Well then why aren't you asking me?". She's like, "You don't have to have to hear every line Pete". I'm like, "I don't know why he left the room. I don't know what's going on".
Now I got to rewind. For all the money Netflix has they got to work on the rewind, fast forward man. Just try to go back a little. I'm like, all right, stop, stop, stop! My wife's yelling at me, "You're going all the way back to the beginning. Oh God, here we go, all the way back. Opening credits. I don't know why. I don't think what you think he said matters so much, bullshit. Can't believe this". Now I'm fast forwarding and I'm like, all right, stop, stop, stop, stop! Now she's yelling at me, "Here we go. We're seeing the whole thing. All right, here we go. The whole God damn movie. Everything, ending credits. Put something else on now because we just saw it". Ten minutes later I'm finally getting it right where I want it. In my head I'm like, oh man, this guy better say something really important, right? And he's like, "Goodbye". All right, he's leaving. He's not coming back. Now I know he's officially not.
We're watching a movie recently. At one point the woman turns to the man and goes, "Well, you know what they say, behind every great man there's an even greater woman". And my wife paused the movie. I knew she would. I knew she would. I'm on the edge of the couch. She's like, "You hear that? Behind every great man is an even greater woman". I'm like, "Well, I am wallowing away in mediocrity over here. So you might want to step up".
