Icelandic electronic duo Kiasmos, consisting of composer/producer Ólafur Arnalds and Bloodgroup's Janus Rasmussen, craft steadily paced, melody-rich techno tracks incorporating elements of modern classical and ambient music. Titling nearly all their songs after verbs in past tense, Kiasmos were first heard on a 2009 split EP with Rival Consoles. Full-length debut Kiasmos, a set of cinematic minimal techno cuts with orchestral flourishes, appeared in 2014, and the duo established the project as a successful touring act. Following EPs such as 2017's Blurred, Kiasmos released second album, II, in 2024, taking their sound in a grander and more intricate direction.
Members of Kiasmos include, or have included, Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen.
