Last night I saw an old time movie on TV

And let me tell ya kids, it was a sight to see

The way they used to danced would knock off your feet

To that old ragtime beat

I couldn't wait to show my boyfriend what I saw

Now he is not the kind who liked to dance before

But when I played him just one ragtime melody

He said, "Hey baby, dance with me!"

And so this mornin' I ran down to the record store

I went and bought those ragtime records by the score

I'm gonna bring 'em to the party friday night

We're gonna dance those good ol' rags until it's light

And when we get it down, we'll spread it all around
