In the Circle

It started out when I was just a lad

With a Western Auto Guitar that I got from my dad

My spotlight was the evening setting sun

I’d hope and pray this day would someday come

This circle is full of legends big and small

Roy, Hank and Lefty, and Eddy's Cattle Call

There’s Lester, Bill, and Earl whose banjo changed my world

And tonight I’m in the circle with them all

This two lane road has always been my home

Dreaming ‘bout a Stetson and a suit of rhinestones

I’d look just like a star with a new flat top guitar

Then the circle would be the place I’d belong

Tonight I’m in the circle with them all

For me so many folks have cheered and prayed

That God would guide my travels and I’d make it here someday
