I woke up at 3am, sweating from anxiety

I had this weird feeling, something's in the room with me

I tried to calm myself down, that was just a dream

I kept thinking something's wrong, I've never felt like this

A couple minutes later, I heard steps and I heard keys

My heart started to race again, we should be all asleep

But like so many nights after that one, that was my mom

Arriving home, that was my mom, but not the one I used to know

For several years, I was trapped in a nightmare

The dream I had at night was lost like I have never been there

I was drowning in my mother's tears

She was drowning in liquor

I tried to stay afloat, at least the way I could be with her

As if that was going to save her, how naive of me

Kids always believe they're stronger than the destiny

Mom didn't grow better, she kept digging her grave

I got done watching her decadence, enough of being brave

Had to get out of there, couldn't bear it anymore

My heroin syndrome was rotting my core

You can't help who don't wanna be helped

Took me some years to learn cause people used to say

You need to help her she's your mom

I ran away the guilt remained

Is this what I deserve?

The dream came to me again "Be kind sit and observe"

The creature looked smaller and not scary at all

She was with me all that time in fact I was never alone

The creature from my dream told me: "wait till it's your time"

I wrote a couple songs, relieved my armored mind

I wrote a couple more, suddenly I could fully smile

But that was not enough, I needed to start my climb

Didn't know where I was heading, but I was eager to thrive

Found a good producer who became a friend of mine

Together we made music that could make a goddess cry

But time always tells who's truly by your side

And lack of money shows who is who you'd be surprised

That was my second lesson that took me to the third

Put your faith in yourself, don't ever trust in people's word

But God that is so helpless, I was close to giving up

Music is to be shared, how could I work without the trust?

I thought that was the end, but a voice whispered to me
