I wanna hang out with my friends

Anyone have any plans tonight?

Maybe we could go to Vinnie's house

And sit around until he kicks us out

Then talk on AIM til we go to bed

Even if just for a weekend

We could go back to that feeling

Maybe we could turn back time

New Year's Day ten years ago

I moved to Nashville on my own

Always knew I'd hit the road one day

Cut my teeth, cut my hair, met Jesus

Met a man I could've never dreamed of

He's the best guy that I know, I swear

Even though I couldn't stay home

Didn't mean it wasn't hard to let go

I said to myself, 'some day you will be fine'

But for now I'll take my mind

To 2009

Certain things will never change

Even though our lives will never be the same

We'll talk all night until the sunlight paints the sky

And laugh about the golden times
