I said I didn’t want to live this way anymore

Walked down the alley and I knocked on the door

How do I get started

Fixing myself

I do the work I read the book

I volunteer each week

I focus on keeping clean my side of the street

But not that it matters

But this is a historically black AA room

I am accepted

I’m extended grace

This blows me away
