About Jill

Jack and Jill had time to kill on a backroad summer night

Jack won a homecoming crown, Jill ended up with two pink lines

Jack said he was too young for kids, so he left Jill to choose

He went off to a state school and visits every month or two

Everybody knows Jack

Got a new truck, got a good job working for his dad

Country club pass on the dash

Met a girl from outta town, now he wants to settle down with a two-story on a hill

Everybody knows Jack

But they don't know Jack about Jill

She's got two jobs and too many bills

Drives around in her mama's old van

She ain't seen her friends in God knows when, but she gets out when she can

That sweet little boy's starting school and looks just like his dad

And every time he smiles it hurts like hell, but she can't seem to stay mad
