I think I'm bought in when we're talking

Is it odd I'm relieved when you're sure?

It becomes obvious I'm not

Which leaves you wanting to dig your heels in more

You said everything you wanted to say

Then you stared blankly at the floor

When the plan you'd imagined wasn't what'd happened

It was hard to not break for the door

Talk in circles now

We'll end up back at the start

Have I been here mistakenly faking it for the sake of it?

Taking in all you've been making up

For all my indecision, impatience, and imprecision

I didn't always tend to interrupt

I think I'm nodding out of constantly

Not wanting to be in the way

The unsure laughter that comes after

Is a habit I've learned to fill the space

When I don't know what to say

We'll end up in the same place

And I know that more often than not

I concede from indifference

And I don't need reminders that

I will either etch in to stone every letter I wrote

With tentative toes in the sand

Or take the pieces and parts

And dismantle these hard lines instead
