Where I Land

Stretch of gravel as far as I see

Lord the stars are what guides me

In a world torn apart

Lookin’ for a brand new start

A broken man on the road

Feelin like his life is sold

A troubled past ruined by chance

Of a future with romance

I don’t know where I’m going

Where this trail is gonna end

I take one leap at a time now

Not knowing where I land

A driftin soul wandering by

A broken heart at least he tried

Searching for a brand new place

A spot without a familiar face

Passin towns drive the knife

Deeper in, building strife

A hope he’ll find some new love

Maybe a girl or from above

A swig of jack to numb the pain

Tightened grip on a dream

Made heartbreak worse it seems

Lifes an anchor that’s tied to a foot

But he swam like no one could

He cut the rope and he rose right up

To a life that’s full of love
