As I open my eyes in the morning
The first thing I do is give thanks
Catch up with the Lord
I tell him just how yesterday went
The ups and downs, smiles and frowns
I call that a holy vent
Try not to dwell on the negative things
If I focus on God that's time well spent

This faith gets tested
How can you know that you really believe
If every now and then you don't get to test it
Do you really believe in Jesus Christ

So I follow his lead on this path of righteousness

When my spirit is fighting flesh
But I always try remember it's more than physical
