Breakwater

With life, it's crashing waves,

And me, my broken sails,

It's easy to forget,

The good that lies ahead,

And with all that being said,

I'll be here a while just yet.

But come,

With every new mistake,

If we can try and take,

From what they have to teach.

And come,

It's every hopeful thought,

And having to fall short,

If we're to know our reach.

And come,

The dream of pastures new,

The sun still peaking through,

Yet staying where we are.

And come,

It's better that we know,

Than keeping with the tried and true,

That hasn't worked so far

Allow yourself to fall,

If nothing else to fall,

It does us well to fall,

Allow yourself to fall.
