For what is the point

Of getting on your knees

And praying to someone

You can never please

And what is the point

Of trying to get

Forgiveness from someone

You ain’t even met

 

If I hit a fork

In the Frog and Toad

I choose the way

That’ll get me there slow

And if I had the choice

of any God I could choose

I’d choose the one

Who looks like you

I can see the point

Of getting on my knees

And asking forgiveness

From someone I can please

Of seeking the truth

I don’t need it from God
