She Left in Silence

The night laid its shroud upon the icy cold bedroom

And the pillow swallows the tears from her cheek

Frightened awaiting his steps down the hallway

Her prayers recited so silent and weak

The rain sheds his tear outside of her window

Where wild roses grow and the jasmine is in bloom

Desirous eyes are staring at something

That slightly reminds her of the flowers of doom

Her innocence now poisoned

No chance of hope she sees

Feels safe while she is drowning in her childhood memories

As sadness surrounds her

She weeps herself to sleep

Takes refuge in silence,

Where there is no more faith to keep

And then from the darkness a strange thought is rising

So savage and frightening, it's raging in her mind

It's crawling so mighty, possessive, overwhelming

That to all hope that's given she's blind

In his sweetest hour of seduction, a tear drips from her eye

Upon her lips a softly whisper: Oh God. Please let me die!
