Lyrics
In the beginning, the absolute beginning
God created everything from practically nothing
And matter had no form and darkness roamed
But all of that was just about to transform
Then God said: “Let there be light!”
And there was light and God saw that light was alright
He took the light and dark, and took them apart
So he called the light day and darkness night
When was all that? In the beginning! What!?
In the beginning. Ha!?
The Bible says in Genesis
So no one really knows what went down in space
And how long until time started to flow, we can guess
And we really don't know what the bible doesn't say
There was evening there was morning the xx day
Check what's next in the holy text God said: “Let there be an expanse
In the midst of the waters let it separate the waters
From the waters”, yes from the waters
And you call it what you like, God named the thing
Hebrew reads: Shamayim, whatever that means
Call it Heaven or Sky, call it “out of the blue”
God called it to existence that was end of day two
And God said let the waters below the sky
Be gathered in one place so some land could be dry
So some land appeared, call it earth he would
The rest he called sea, God saw it was good
And God said let the earth sprout vegetation
Plants and fruit trees, yielding seeds for procreation
Each according to its kind God saw it was fine
Bunch of plants popped up, he didn’t name them this time
God called for lights in the expanse of the heavens
To tell day from night, and be signs for seasons
And for days and years, and for dates of birth
And he made them so they could give light upon the Earth
And God made the two great lights, the greater one to rule the day, the lesser one the night.
And the stars up above leave a shiny trace.
When God created planets, he didn't save space.
Next God created the great creatures of the seas
Maybe it was dinosaurs with tails as big as trees
Maybe it was fish and whales, they were swimming in swarms
God made the first batch, they were meant to make more
At the same time he made birds to fly
Above the earth so they could fill the sky
He blessed them saying: “You should multiply”
There was evening, there was morning, end of day five
Next God made all the creatures of the ground,
Livestock and creeping things and beasts would here be found
From the big elephant to the miniature donkey
That was half of day six, and God gave the OK.
Then God said let us make man in our image
After our likeness let them have dominion
Over the fish, and the seas, and the birds of the sky
And all the living things, all according to their kind
So God created man in his very own image
In the image of God he was created and finished
Male and female, he created them then
Made them good and blessed them, that was the end
