Heart's Desire

The desire of the heart is a tricky thing

You can never know for sure what it will bring

And since we're numb we let it take us apart

The desire of the heart is the tricky part

You can waste your life from end to start

And since we want, can't get enough

Maybe it's nothing

But what if it's something

It's probably nothing

Many years have passed since I asked for less

And the trash ball in my heart is just a mess

And truth be told, I'm tired of pulling the weight

And wonder if it helped if I ripped it out

Would I die or would it open my eyes
