The Same Dream

It's always the same dream,

I resume and it's recurring.

I've memorised the words

But it's always the rehearsal.

There's a searchlight, like a yearning

Like desire, each time it finds me

It burns whiter and like lightning

In illuminating blinds me.

Though I can't seize what I'm seeking

Through the gap a window traces.

In the wall of the partition,

I have been both places.

When the light dims it's night falling.

I've fallen, like a curtain,

On you, dreaming like the same dream

In a different country.
