As one of Indonesia’s most enduring pop divas, Titi DJ’s larger-than-life public persona is matched by the breadth of her discography. Debuting in the early 1980s, the singer born Titi Dwi Jayati experienced largely modest success with most of her maximalist pop releases, before scoring her biggest hit with 1999’s “Bahasa Kalbu”, a stripped-down piano ballad that showcased her stunning vocals and solidified her place in Indonesian pop’s highest pantheon. Titi DJ’s star continues to shine with subsequent releases, including the majestic “Sang Dewi” and the R&B-tinged “Separuh Hidupku”.
