Krisdayanti—or simply KD—rose to unprecedented ubiquity on the strength of her finely tuned soprano and a litany of stone-cold pop classics. From “Menghitung Hari” to “I’m Sorry Goodbye” via “Mencintaimu”, in addition to her ever-changing looks and personae, Krisdayanti has defined and redefined the concept of ‘diva’ in the Indonesian mainstream since her mid-‘90s breakthrough. Her decade-plus personal and professional union to rock musician Anang also resulted in a bevy of high-selling collaborative releases, further cementing her status as Indonesia’s leading songstress.
