Artist Biography
There must’ve been something in Parañaque’s water supply when brothers Sam, Toffer and Tim Marquez formed One Click Straight with their neighbourhood buddy Joel Cartera in 2009. Making eminently dance-floor-worthy power pop with breathy, reverb-drenched vocals, their sound owed as much to pop punk as it did to the moody visuals they loved to include with their songs—whether in promo photos or music videos. Their full-length LP The Midnight Emotion didn’t emerge until 2018, but it was well worth the wait as their sound also ranged into dark atmospherics with punchy, upbeat guitars.
