Artist Biography
Yogyakarta band Jikustik credit their initial success to being featured on local radio station Geronimo FM in 1996, kickstarting the soft-rock unit’s career. Their songs have been staples of the airwaves since, with era-defining crowd-pleasers like the wispy, orchestral ballad “Setia” and “Puisi”, a song known for its soft climactic chorus that soothes lovesick listeners’ souls. While the band saw the departures of main songwriters Pongki and Icha in 2009 and 2012, a new lineup has forged ahead, managing to retain their consistency in crafting catchy, brooding tunes.
