Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Learning how to work my parents' stereo system, putting in an Elton John CD and dancing and running around the house with absolute glee! Elton inspired a lot of joy for this young North Carolina girl.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Prine, John Prine It's so hard to pick, but today I'm choosing my friend Grace Pettis' new record "Working Woman," Patty Griffin's "Downtown Church," and John Prine's eponymous 1971 record.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “If Trouble Comes a Lookin'” "If Trouble Comes a' Lookin'" is one of my favorite feats of love story songwriting AND the first song I ever played electric guitar on!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Singing to a huge audience in Stockholm, Sweden and watching people sing my songs back to me! I almost cried! I knew my music had reached people in other countries, but I had no idea how much people loved my songs and storytelling across the ocean.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Of course! Headlining the Ryman and playing Saturday Night Live (my secret dream job it writing the parody songs on SNL!)
