In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
The earliest memories of music were the sounds coming out of my granny Peg's sunroom through her 8-track console. I saw Patty Loveless in 1994 in Paducah KY. After that I wanted to be a country star. I've been singing and writing songs ever since. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Alice Gerrard, Hazel Dickens, Hazel Dickens and Alice Gerrard
Pops Staples, Don't Lose This
Waylon Jennings, Dreaming My Dreams (Remastered)
There are so many that have been influential, but I will only choose a few for now. Hazel Dickens and Alice Gerrard "self-titled" from 1975. Waylon Jennings, "Dreaming My Dreams". Pops Staples "Don't Lose This". Just listen to them! Front to Back! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Singing "In Spite of Ourselves" at the Ryman with John Prine, having a display in the Country Music Hall of Fame, and becoming a Kentucky Colonel. Just to ONLY name a few.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
There is always something left on my bucket lis,! Getting to play my own set at the Ryman was one, and I am actually crossing that one off this year. Two other big ones I can think of is to finally play Red Rocks and Austin City Limits.
