Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first song I wrote was for my dog. I was thirteen, and she despised me. I thought if I wrote her a love song, maybe she'd change her mind. It didn't work in regards to swaying her, but it did start the songwriting thing.

Before getting it down, I figured the album would encompass shame and regret, but through Lighthouse, I found I was much more empowered than I had assumed.
