Artist Biography
DJ Poolboi has alternately called his melancholy, atmospheric dance music “emo house” and “electronic depression music,” but the Austin, Texas native has built a burgeoning career out of it, eliciting wistful nostalgia and dancefloor passion from his millions of listeners. Musician Adam Ansley started releasing low-key tracks under the DJ Poolboi moniker in 2017. His track “we can be happy,” built on a four-on-the-floor beat and atmospheric, hopeful synths, was his first to gain traction with a larger group of listeners.
