About DJ Seinfeld
Artist Biography
Beneath the sitcom-referencing name, DJ Seinfeld creates club-ready dance tracks with an underlying melancholy streak. The moniker of Swedish electronic artist Armand Jakobsson first appeared in 2016, spurred by binge sessions of Jerry Seinfeld’s popular ‘90s TV show, following a breakup. While artwork and song titles found on debut EP Season 1 positioned the project as a novelty, the music featured driving house rhythms accented by synthesizer melodies and vocal samples, hinting at deeper feelings underneath. Piano-driven 2017 single “U” and the same year’s Time Spent Away From U revealed a new depth to Jakobsson’s sound via warped vocals and stretches of samples expressing romantic ennui. He’s since balanced floor-focused intensity with emotional fragility. DJ Seinfeld brings plenty of energy through nods to ‘90s house and funk but still takes the time to get tenderhearted on songs such as 2021’s “These Things Will Come To Be.”
