Heard you walking by my tent the other day

Got up to perch my self upon my little legs

A single glimpse of you could surely make my day

Just then the elephant blocked your shining ray

Never asked to be this way

In the show I'll have to stay

As she was walking away

I went to see the fortune-teller the other day

Asked her if things would ever go my way

She dealt the cards then looked the other way

Without a word, she told me all she had to say

In the carnival I'll stay

Guess tomorrow will bring another day

Perhaps I'll stop and take some time to finally pray
