Who do I wanna be?

I asked myself today.

Somewhere between Prine and Dylan,

Not a villain, not a saint.

Self-respect before fame;

I’d just rest in that vein,

Someplace in the middle

Of Robin Hood and Jesse James.

Is it such a crime?

I can’t be perfect all the time.

A porcelain doll sits on a shelf,

While a woman walks the line.

They want beauty, they want poise,

they want grace,

But I’m a nightmare and I’m a dreamer.

Some laws were meant to break;

you can call me Miss Demeanor.

What else can I say?

There are two sides to me.

Not pretentious but relentless,
