I was sitting at a coffee shop the other day

With my good friend Earl and my neighbor Greg

You see Earl's tractor well it's broke down

And Greg's fences are mere suggestions to cows

My wife sure envies his pond and gazebo

Now To be fair he's just a small operation

And you'd have to be for as many vacations as they take

And hell right now I think they're on one

But he dreamed of this life as a boy in the city

And our experience as ranchers couldn't be different

Cause the truth of the matter is he gets to do this all for fun

And Greg threw up his hands and shrugged his shoulders

And I said boys, I've been thinking about this for days

I'd get an asphalt driveway that melts the snow

And a tractor that starts even when it's cold

And a three phase hydralic bucket mount cylinder

For post pounding ties, t-posts and sprinklers

I'd turn my double to a triple wide trailer

New haydogs for a 243 bailer

Lord I'd have a whole shop full of the best tools you can get

Cause I've tried it one way

But I'd like to try ranchin' rich

It ain't the same as ranchin' poor

With the little bit of change that we make for all these chores

Tell the bankers all to go to hell

Pick and choose when I wanna sell

I could finally go out and find me some dedicated personnel

I'd try to keep it secret but I feel as though it wouldn't go so well

Cause if I was ranching rich you would immediately be able to tell
