Lyrics

Double standards, I can't stand them, so I sit down
Try to ignore them, but they always find me, so I get lost in my sound
You scream, don't ignore me, but I won't listen to my rhymes
I am just trying to find some consistency in your morals
But all I see is a blank in your eyes
When I tell you I am done with your games
Yeah, you start another round
When you tell me you are done with my whining
I either shut up or get shoved to the ground
It's always your way and that's the moral code you live by
We let it slide and I don't know why
Somebody's gotta hold you accountable for your actions
But we're just kids trying to survive
What you mean you're saying you deserve these exceptions that you live by
Everything you can do is something you have to do to survive
I say it's not fair, you say it's a cruel world
Well, fucking change it
You have that power, so don't just say it
We don't work hard enough, we aren't, we aren't strong enough
We are weak willed with no discipline and strict codes
Strict rules we abide by to make everyone happy
Then have the audacity to say we fucking have been
Love thy neighbor as you would love yourself
You should not take vengeance or bear a grudge
Just because we are different doesn't mean we shouldn't help
Love thy neighbor as you would love yourself
These are lines taken right out of your scripture
And I don't know I might believe in God
But fuck your system, fuck the cherry picking
Fuck the justification of your false virtue
You let virtue escape you
It's a select few that select a few lines
And use it to be horrible, by bending the guidelines
It's a right-wing extremist who don't have the foresight
To know that they're the villain by taking away rights
No, you can't marry him
That'll send you to hell
But you're cheating on your wife and you feel proud of yourself
No, you can't kill that baby
That'll send you to hell
But if she keeps it, it'll end up killing them both
At least you try to bring human suffering to a minimum
So why save one life
It'll end up removing two of them, or three of them, or more
A lot of kids these days are spilling their own blood on the floor
So why give them more reason
Why let them keep bleeding
Clearly something needs to change
If you want the working class breathing
That's right change
That's a big scary thing
That most of you conservatives don't believe in
'Cause society's changed
Now it's okay to be gay
It's okay to be a female without changing your name
It's okay to be black and go to the same high school as your white friends
Or are you arguing we should go back
No, you can see that change was good
Good job
Pat yourself on the back
Okay, now tell me the difference between this change and that
Come on, you got this shit in the bag
If we restrict rights, then we start fights, that start fires
And soon pyres will be burned in protest
Maybe stop while you're ahead and just enjoy the process
We'll get there in the end
