In the murk and red sun

Sand spins around

Making the water look brown

Swim your lungs out

It's still a clean place to drown

On this patch on the floor

Along the highway

So Ladybird

Planted roadside flowers

My garden has dried

And my bluebonnets have died

But they still thrive

On Interstate 45
