Lyrics

The chopper was the coolest bike I'd ever seen. I wanted it so bad. I asked for it for what felt like forever, and then I finally got it for my birthday. It was this blue Raleigh with a big seat, not quite a banana seat, and a small front wheel.
Riding down First to Colorado Boulevard,
faster than the breeze in my Raleigh blue chopper.
Man at the store says, "It's a boy's bike.
Yeah, I know, it's a Raleigh Blue Chopper.
Girls in my neighborhood with their pretty girl bikes
they don't like, no we don't likeeach other
in my Raleigh Blue Chopper.
Flying down the hill to the JCC,
kindergarten kids all lookin' at me.
I can drive with no hands, with both eyes shut,
swerve between cars at the Pizza Hut.
Boys that I used to beat up are getting tall.
I'm still small, but I'm no teeny bopper
in my Raleigh Blue ChopperRaleigh Blue, Raleigh Blue Chopper.

When I was twelve,
I was a fierce little rocker who wanted to be Jimi Hendrix.
The boys used to think I was cool
and the girls, I think they envied me.
I didn't have to tell anyone what I wasI just was.
I had an imaginary bandwhoosh!
My soulmates. They were perfect. Girl rockers of my imagination. Black leather and Suzi Quatro shag. So cool.
We rehearsed Hey Joe in the garage, because it was the only song I knew. On our breaks, we'd have seances, and try to bring Jimi Hendrix and Abe Lincoln back to life at the same time. We called ourselves:

I could play a bar chord when I was six,
play Hey Joe with the Hendrix lick.
Yeah, I was a star, but Mr. Hill said:
Girls fingerpick. It's the boys who shred.
Girls fingerpick it's the boys who shred! Girls fingerpick it's the boys who shred!
Got a radio strapped to the handlebars.
Singing Telegram Sam, I'm a rock n roll star.
I got five on the floor, wish I had more
I would fly away forever.
Got a kryptonite lock cross my heart.
No one will keep us apart
I'm fast. I'm a badass
in my Raleigh Blue Chopper.
Raleigh BlueI love you
