This is a story

About two children

One who hid to be heard

And another who ran to be remembered

I present to you "Kid & Leveret"

Found in forgotten fields of flaxen

I was the leveret in hiding

Rowdy and rigorous, they reave and rally

There where the houses once stood

It used to be a kingdom for a foolish majesty

Then he put his hands over his ears and welcomed entropy

Came the undergrowth overburdening before

What is left is a hamlet and the wails of yore

Bam, bam, bam, down the door and here I am

Beyond the cranny, "Come hither" says the feathered lady

"Fare thee well to the hound that held your home"

Foreboding, farther off we'll go

Her father was a doll maker

He taught her how to weave one's movement

The marionette who took the thread

When the baron lost his head

Oh, a spider, a spinner, believe her, she's a mother

A woe of many morns, amidst a storm

She receives a knock on the door

A sight of silver and locks of gold

Kid among beast of metal and malice

I was real and she was alone

Rather from her fingers, dearest though she was

She never saw me silence, silence, I won't go far, I promise

I was the leveret in hiding

Candles were a start, now here I am at my brightest

Rowdy and rigorous, they reave and rally

Win or wound me with a kiss, find me where the Lark is

There, where the houses once stood

Far from where we had once been strung
