Night Drive

The garage door opens

There's been a blackout

Until the lights turn on

It really stands out

Turn my neck sideways

Be careful of the shiny door

I watch it close slowly

And then we're off

Flashing lights go by

The wind in my eyes

Never slowing down force in motion like a tide

Alarms are going off

Pushed everything down

Take another look back you cannot see us now

Free as two birds driving out of town

It doesn't feel real all the noise we drown

Listen to the music making our way

On a night drive this is where I lay

Feet up on the table

That's how I feel right now

Cityscape for me to look at

As much as nature will allow

See the tallest buildings staring

Watching us go as if we're leaving

Taking a break

A moments stay

Stop off for a minute or an extra day
