Four Seasons

Have you ever picked a flower so beautiful

That you missed the thorns

Now there's blood on your fingers

The sweet smell lingers

Keeps you coming back for more

                             

Have you ever been deliriously thinking

You need the sun more than the moon

Have you found out every reason

Why garden of four seasons

Can't stay in everbloom

 

If you wanna stay

In my garden for some time

Be what it may

You may prune it or just kill the time

I don't wanna scare you away

But the winter's long and the summer never stays

Long enough for the most beautiful rose to grow

 

As the summer climbs over the fence and visits

She tells a tale of a sweeter time

Says if you rip away the weeds and plant new seeds

Next season will treat you kind

 

And you may never wanna leave

Become one with ivy leaves

As they twine around your body

Roots are sprouting from your feet

I will water I will mend

All your blooms I'm deadheading

Till your leaves grow wide and tall

And you may never see the sun again
