Bells

I'm all shades of blue

I cried from the sight of lightning

I heard my mother as she's calling

You were once like me, yeah I know

Because I found the photos in the closet

The years were our secrets that we're hiding

And I'll watch out for what to do

Listen to the water hit the shed

I'll cast the shore, maybe a little more

To see what the cat drags in

Time passed on through

Like the dirt that blows through our doorway

With that new dog who's sitting there to watch me

The barnwood in the backyard is rotting

All the pine near our field was burning

The peace that I knew here was running

The hay on the shelf dried and falling

And the tractor Bill drove now is rusted

I still don't know what to do
