What If

What if faith means I’m swimming up the river of pain,

Waiting for the current to change, but It doesn’t change.

 

What if grace leaves me stranded in the desert of doubt,

And sorrow is the only way out. My only way out.

If it’s true You’ll never leave me, then draw me to Your love.

Remind me that Your mercy will always be enough.

I may not know the reason, the why in all of this.

I choose to trust You in all the what if’s.

 

What if love means I’m letting go and saying goodbye, and I'm left with only memories of life, and moments in time.

 

What if hope Is closer than I thought it could be, like a Father who knows just what I need, You’re just what I need.

If it’s true You’ll never leave me, then draw me to Your love.

Remind me that Your mercy will always be enough.

I may not know the reason, the why in all of this.

I choose to trust You in all the what if’s.

If all of my questions never get answered at all.

My heart will be steadfast, and I keep will trusting, I will keep trusting You.

Oh I will trust in You Jesus.
