The smell is a part of day and night

I pass by the park, there's a barbecue grill

The smell of sizzling meat makes my stomach fill

Then the whiff of grass, freshly cut and still

It's nature and grub, a contrast so shrill

The smell of rain as it starts to pour down

Washes away some smells, but new ones abound

The smell of asphalt getting wet and slick
