Lyrics

Poetry is a.. a living entity
Which means it must expand it’s wings it must.. it must fly
I used to dream militant dreams
Of taking over America to show these white folks..
I think about the old days and laugh
Past crescendos of love and harmony
Going farther lone on the island, solemn my live off the land
My mind I let wander
I grieve the connections we had
Shards of echoes of chains, from the past showing my armor
Tis but a scratch (Tis but a scratch!)
This wasn’t the plan that I had, lost grip of compassion and honesty
I could honestly say that’s my bad a thousand apologies
But persistence the only option we have, putting a start to a end
Sway like a palm tree angst in my breath of my passion hand
The seconds that passed us
One foot then the next
I reckon there’s good days ahead
But I think about the old ones and laugh
Brings sense misery and pain
My friend
It’ll be the same
But I think the change was needed
The path looking back, paved it we still in tact
Aimless enough
I bare knuckle box with the mirror, but choose not to judge it
When life can get ugly I spared with depression and drugs
My mind in a rush
The sky keeps me grounded, along with those that I love
That’s friends of my family
Look how far that I got
Dark clouds shrouded, the love that surround me
So I’mma talk like the sun
Light bulb what’s above me
You know we had to adjust
