I Went Down

I drove down the road to a church, for some preaching one Sunday evening.

(I sat down)...in a pew on the back row thinking the preacher wouldn't see me.

He laid the gospel out and there was no doubt I wasn't living like I was supposed to...

When the invitation came, that's when my life changed…

I got up off my seat!...and

(I went down) Down to the altar for a good ole dose of forgivin’

(I got down) Down on my knees and changed the way I'd been living.

And since that day I'm not the same, He turned my life around

Now this ole boy is live’n with joy and holding my head up high,

Walking every day with the Lord since I made everything alright.

Those dark days are over...I'll never be the same…

I can take you to the place... Where I received His Grace...When I got up off my seat and...
