Living through spring time haze

The frozen winter slips away

Reminded now of longer days in time

Summer passed, we built a wall

Left untended through the fall

The barriers were way too tall to climb

I think of when you wrote to me

And told about the ocean breeze

And how it always made you feel alive

And how you wished that I was there

To see your smile, to touch your hair

Or maybe just to stand and stare at the sky

Sad farewells have all been said

A picture hidden in a dusty frame
