Reverse Midas Touch

You can't mix up hope with silver lining

As they feed, they breed, they drain and smile with

Ignorance

It was the veil of lies

Torn to pieces

By the will to change

But not the will to react

Measured by the pain

And the price tag they put on our freedom

Or at least what we define as liberty

Resemblant fears

Aiming to seek for answers

With unbowed arrows

Grazing the weak

Assisting to poison our lives

By gaining consent

If I can become the spark of a bonfire

Let the embers float across the land

No need for saviours

All prayers will fade

While we can work to take back what's ours

Instead of changing the world

Maybe we should change ourselves

Never touch a hand that's cursed

It only leads to vain

Never dare to weigh what's worse

It's all what we should have learnt

We forgot to question

While we don't really care

Pretending that we're steadfast

Only to avoid what tomorrow answers
