Lyrics

It was written: They'll be known by their fruit,
From the root of love or hatred,
The evidence presents truth
And we can't hide behind intentions
We either did - or we didn't,
Are we constructing our own deities?
Are we made in God's image?
Are we afraid of the mirrors 'cause they display what our sin is?
But Instead of repentance
We walk away and forget our appearance
Then we'll party like it's '99 with the prince of the power of the air,
And we'll prowl around like the sons of disobedience 'round here
An abomination
A broken arrow, wayward, wandering aimless,
There's more than one way to miss the mark,
I'll count the ways with every passing minute
Omission and commission, feel like the chief of sinners,
And isn't it impressive, the praise of men? How far that get us?
Right back where we started, 6 degrees of separation
Estranged from God,
With no representation at the arraignment
Just a hardened heart with notarized "DNR" order forms on the table
Prideful derangement, Woe to the ones who think they stand, but have fallen by the wayside
When every man is right in his own sight,
As the sun rises, darkness closes in on his mind,
And when the Lord weighs the heart, will it be empty inside?
Will He find wickedness and evil, lust and the pride of this life?
A foolish man waits to repent tomorrow,
But he don't know tonight his life will be required
Oh! Don’t judge my deeds in the Light
Don't give me over to the depravity of my mind
When the dark clouds are hanging over my head,
Markedly different from the covering that led the captives out of Egypt,
But Precept upon Precept,
We deflect and we reject the Truth, ‘cause it finds defect in everything that we do,
So how can anyone love something like you?
Ain't no grave deep enough to hide my guilt, my shame,
So I'll embrace it and claim that it's just, who I am,
A defense mechanism; an anesthetic, so that I feel no pain,
But I've been running like I'm in a dream,
And now my consequences are all catching up to me,
My heart waxed cold when the flame of my love was suffocated then snuffed out,
Now iniquity abounds
And the deception seems like honeycomb that's dripping from the open mouths of these ravenous wolves
Who came to steal, kill and devour,
In the valley of the shadow of death, I'm lost without a shepherd
Desperate as ever as the fear is pressing in,
Dissociation,
Numb, I can feel no comfort,
In my anxieties, I cried out... but I have no helper
As the stronghold burrows even deeper inside me,
The viper’s venom acts as a sedative,
I drift away from reality
The main object of my affection
Disintegrates into negative space,
And all I can see in its place is the One worthy of praise,
But men, hate the Light because it exposes our deeds,
And loves the darkness which conceals and keeps our dirty little secrets,
From antiquity our iniquity, demands for its anonymity,
So we hide behind these fig leaves, and proxy fake IP's
And we can smile for the camera to try to fake our peace,
Identities, like whitewashed tombs, full of these dead men's bones,
Method acting, on and off set, but every hypocrite knows,
That when the lights all turn off and the audience goes home,
Who you are in the darkness, and when you think you're alone,
The masquerade will soon be over and when it's all said and done,
Who was Yeshua to you? Have you been washed in His blood?
Someone must die for our sins, is it Him we trust? ... or will it be us?
When every man is right in his own sight,
As the sun rises, darkness closes in on his mind,
And when the Lord weighs the heart, will it be empty inside?
Will He find wickedness and evil, lust and the pride of this life?
A foolish man waits to repent tomorrow,
But he don't know tonight his life will be required
Oh! Don't judge my deeds in the Light
Don't give me over to the depravity of my mind
“He’s lost
Folks, this is why the gospel is good news. ‘Cause the fact of the matter is neither you nor I would have seen fit to and redeem this. And yet, God, being great in mercy because of the great love with which He loved us He did just that. While we were yet sinners, He did just that. Christ died for the ungodly and it is because of His finished work and His shed blood that we are able to be saved.”
