On the Rocks

Another 30 days I nurse my body back to health

Ain’t got much to say, I make things real hard on myself

I know it probably looks like I’m hell-bent, trying to die

But I take one then it takes me, And I can’t tell you why

Just trying to hold onto a part of me

Overtaken by the chemistry

Seems like the health insurance always puts me out the door

They done it to me at least a half a dozen times before

Right about the time I get the pills and liquor off my breath

I’m back out in the street, all alone, and scared to death
