My purpose predetermined, long before I could decide

Another root in the system, am I just another thorn in your side?

As I lay at night in wonder, and stare into the skies

Will I ever get the chance, to spread my wings and fly?

Carried by the wind on the breeze

I'm not sure where I'll land

but I know I gotta go, and I hope you'll understand

Does it feel like we're growing, or is time just passing by?

Yeah, the world keeps on spinning, but I just keep passing time

Is there light beyond the darkness?

A place where I can clear my mind?

Sometimes I wish the flood, would take me with tide

Carried by the flood, to the seas
