Seven sisters on the run

From a grizzly bear

Said the eldest to her kin

"I see the devil's eyes

In the beast that's closing in

And the devil spares no life"

Seven prayers are calling out in their final hour

Seven sisters never came down from up on Devils Tower

Said the youngest, "Follow me

I know a place to hide

There's holy ground beyond those trees

Where I've seen angels fly"

Seven sisters reached the rock

The rock began to rise

But that devil bear, he laughed at God

'Cause claws are made to climb

Seven sisters never came down from up on Devils Tower

The bear climbed 'til he reached the top

But to his great surprise

The sister's were not on the rock

And that's where that bear did die

To this day, up on that ridge

You'll see the evil scars

Where God let seven sisters live
