Under the Snake

The sky awash with mauve

I see the profile of a snake's head in the sand

Jaws are open wide, venom is dripping

Feel a pulsing at the base of my skull

Notice sensation above my brow

Blood is draining from my hands and my feet

Palms up to receive

Eyes rolled up then bursts of light come forth

Familiar shapes are fading and shifting

Energy centres illuminated

Feel a pulsing at the base of my spine

Notice arising thoughts in my mind

Tune back into my breath in the darkness

I am not here now where my body once was

There is only earth, my pale visage, darkens to grey, then black
