And tidying up

Dwelling on kindnesses I owe

I've recently taken to doing things slow

Stuck but not steadfast

It seems that I must

Mediate ruthlessness with shame

The light at the end of the tunnel's to blame

It must be the eye of an oncoming train

Home for the moment

But hardly at rest

Held by a bitterness to mend

I'll get better soon but I can't tell you when

Recovery covers me over again

I don't want to look but I can't close my eyes

I'll keep faith in goodness as long as I try

I've taken my time so I won't ask for much
