I got a car from my dad

2021 

A Christmas that I won’t forget

Not sure it even felt like one 

 

Gave it up for rent 

Never thought the day would come 

Saw him cry for the first time 

Gave up the keys 

Lost a son

 

And my brother knows that I’ll be alright 

Cause I drove that car in the dead of night 

And we sang those songs like a million times 

Didn’t know that car could change my life 

 

There are so many things that I need to change

But I’m happy for us to stay the same

Got a job I didn’t want 

But it paid for the alcohol 

Never felt so alone

A stranger in my home

Trying to be who you thought I was

 

You showed me how to love

Myself and I’m better now
